I am coming to believe that many Canadians do not value freedom. They do not attach any importance to a right to demonstrate or speak their minds.
It appears to be the opposite. They attach great value to our governmental masters shutting down a demonstration or silencing someone speaking their minds.
They don’t value freedom as I value freedom.
Communication with such people is difficult. I can see it when I recall to them my joy at being surrounded by honking semi-trailer trucks and cheering Canadians. Their looks of disdain and disgust reflect the divergence of our views more than words could express.
And I find it increasingly difficult to keep a civil tongue when my friends and acquaintances praise our Prime Minister and his invocation of the (War) Emergency Measures Act. But I will struggle on with Canadian forbearance, trusting in a future turn of the wheel.
Friends acquaintances … add family to that
Good to find you Andy
