Truth in Advertising

I saw a bus billboard the other day. The sponsor was the Union of Public Employees for the Province. The message suggested that we all benefited from the work of Civil Servants.

That message might have been true, but I would like to see another message that ranks as the truest of all messages regarding Public Service Unions in North America:

“Public Unions, ensuring Civil Servants are paid above market salaries.”

I would love to see a real value for money analysis done on our “Tax Dollars at Work” I have watched the city “MANAGE” our roads and the diminishing returns on investment of these over paid under utilized, poorly organized efforts. They are a joke. In the last 12 years if has gone from poor to horrible and the costs continue to go up and according to the pamphlet put out with our city utility bills a few months ago, something like 30% of our tax dollars go on this mess, second only to police/fire. Time for fiscal responsibility at all levels of government.

I want to hear what you think!
